The Mini Astrophytum (Astrophytum myriostigma) is distinctive for its star-shaped cross-section, usually having five prominent ribs. What makes this plant truly special is the fine white “flocking” or scales that cover its green skin, protecting it from the harsh sun. This gives the plant a soft, stone-like appearance, earning it the nickname “Living Rock.”
This cactus is incredibly long-lived and durable. In the summer months, mature plants may produce beautiful, daisy-like yellow flowers from the center. It requires a sunny spot and very little water, making it one of the easiest plants to care for in our collection.
